Goodness, Grace & God

In Biblical terms, a "moment" is described by a Greek term, Kairos.  A Kairos suggests a transformation or revelation derived from not a moment in time but from a divine intervention to change one's course.  In our lifetime, we experience billions of moments.  Each of those moments has its own personality or perspective.  Each moment will guide you left or right.  Each moment may guide you forward or backward.  A moment will push your emotions up or down.  Moments are sneaky and just creep up on you.  But where does a moment come from?  Especially the moment that comes in like a wrecking ball which can, may or will change your life.

The Bible illustrates many moments by using parables; portrayed as pivotable points when someone experiences a significant change in one's life.  Moments come in many colors, shapes and sizes.  These twinkling instances are an indication of God's presence.  God’s presence is in this moment!  In the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus presented his "Sermon on the Mount", he teaches us how to handle the moments we experience.  In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus explains the importance of living in the present and asks us to not fear tomorrow.  For what may come, may not come.  Regardless of the type of moment you are having, seek Jesus' words.

Embrace each moment with Goodness, Grace and God.

Know this, God is always there!  And remember this, Grace Lutheran Church is here for you !

This Bible verse has a very special meaning to Pastor Hinckley.  A verse we should all live by.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another."  John 13:34
